TRIATHLON WEEKEND - LANCASHIRE
19TH - 21ST JULY 2019
Fancy breathing new life into your triathlon endeavours?
BTF qualified triathlon coaches Rodger Wilkins & Sarah Jepson are excited to host a great Racepace weekend of coach-led swimming, cycling, running and transition sessions in a beautiful part of rural Lancashire.
The weekend will be a great chance to enjoy training in fantastic new environments, pick up appropriate skills and enjoy a healthy group atmosphere. We will be focusing our efforts on helping a small number of around 6-8 triathletes develop a positive relationship with the sport and enjoying the benefits it can bring.
We're aiming the weekend at triathletes with some experience. As a rough guide - those who can swim 750m non-stop (frontcrawl) and can ride comfortably in a group on undulating, open roads.
Two nights' accommodation.
Up to six coach-led swim, bike, run and transition sessions.
Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday morning.
Picture framed memento.
Friday afternoon: 10km trail run.
Our first session will be an easy 10k trail run - the perfect start to get the system going, take in some great scenery and get to know who'll you'll be spending the weekend with.
Friday pm: Bike skills and transition session.
The afternoon will be a fun session and involve learning new skills and fine tuning your bike to run transitions. Real-time feedback will ensure you enjoy the process and make significant time gains on the fourth discipline.
Saturday am: Scenic group ride with lunch stop.
The ride will set off as one group but will split into two evenly grouped coach-led pelotons, doing roughly the same scenic and stimulating ride through the picturesque East Lancashire countryside. Towards the later stages of the ride, both groups will meet up and stop for lunch in a great cafe.
Saturday pm: Short run session with a focus on technique.
For those who feel up to it, early Saturday evening, Rodger & Sarah will coach a short, easy run session in the Park. They'll be giving tips on how you may improve your running style to become a more efficient runner.
Sunday am: Coached swim session.
Sunday will start with an invigorating swim session at the fantastic Craven Leisure Centre. Rodger & Sarah will coach you through some key drills and give demonstrations to improve your open water skills and help gain confidence in what - for many - is the toughest part of a triathlon.
Sunday pm: Bric session - team play.
Sunday afternoon will see us on the cycle track for our fun 'team play' bric session. Athletes will enjoy being part of a tactical team that has an appropriate mix of running, cycling and transitions challenges.
Rodger and Sarah will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer any questions and give relevant feedback.
