14 year old Blythe Fourie was in action last weekend in the Kendal Aquathlon (T3/400m swim/3k run) – part of the North West Junior Series.
This particular race featured strong swimmer Emily Barker who was more than likely to be first out of the water. Emily was indeed first out by over a minute from Blythe who was fourth out of the water.
After a speedy transition from Blythe she set off onto the 5 lap run course at a fast but sustainable pace. She quickly made up ground passing Emily Barker and going into first place by the end of the 3rd lap.
Blythe held onto her lead and came home to win her second aquathlon of the year. A great performance from Blythe that once again highlighted that we need to continue with the focus on her swimming.
