What is an Escape?
An Escape can be either a comprehensive triathlon training camp, or simply a relaxed and enjoyable triathlon-related break. Our Escapes are great if you're keen to improve your fitness and understanding of triathlon, or if you're simply looking to breathe new life into your swimming, cycling and running endeavours. Suitable for between two and five people, each day will involve multiple coached sessions that are completely specific to your goals or your personal preference. Based in Barrowford, Lancashire, on the periphery of the incredible Forest of Bowland and the magnificent Pendle Hill, Escapes are hosted and coached by Rodger Wilkins. He strives to create the right balance with a healthy focus on revitalisation and growth.
About your host and coach, Rodger
Rodger's spent over fifteen years building up a vast network of incredible cycling and running routes. He's a BTF Level 3 qualified triathlon coach with a valid ITC outdoor first aid certificate and take people’s safety seriously. Definitely a people person, he enjoys hosting high quality, friendly, fun and challenging, triathlon related Escapes.
While some background in swimming, cycling and running may be beneficial there is no minimum requirement for one of our Escapes. As its your own bespoke holiday, we can plan routes and adapt the sessions to suit your fitness or ability level.
We can accommodate between two and four guests per Escape. There’s a beautiful, double en-suite and/or a cosy twin room with its own private bathroom. We'll put a great spread on for breakfast each day and you'll have full access to a modern, well-equipped kitchen and dining room and gymnasium. There’s wonderful countryside on the doorstep but everyone looking to ‘Escape’ needs a great base, so that’s what we’re offering, right at the heart of Barrowford. It's a thriving little town, with quirky shops, great restaurants and bags to interest those who love the great outdoors.
An Escape can cost from just £55 per person per day, including accommodation and breakfast.

Here is an example of what a two-day Escape might look like:
8am: 75min scenic trail run.
11am: 3hr easy scenic ride.
6pm: 60min Indoor gym session.
8am: 120min appropriately adventurous trail run
1pm: 75min technical cycle and transition session.
6pm: 60min Technical swim & 45min conditioning run session.
